WHY THIS CONVERSATION
The skills beneath success
What does it take for a student to succeed, both in school and long after? Reading and math skills are part of the answer. Underneath those, though, are the thinking skills that make learning possible in the first place, such as working memory, pattern recognition, cognitive flexibility, and reasoning & problem-solving.
These skills are built in the earliest years, and they carry students through school and into whatever comes next. Yet leaders rarely get the chance to compare notes on them with peers. The Leaders' Table is that chance.
WHO IT'S FOR
A seat for every kind of leader
Different roles see this work from different angles. That mix is what makes the conversation valuable.
School leaders
Principals leading elementary and early learning schools.
District leaders
Assistant superintendents and directors of curriculum, instruction, and innovation.
Early childhood leaders
Principals leading elementary and early learning schools.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A real conversation
We're keeping the group small on purpose so everyone has room to share, ask questions, and learn from each other.
We'll talk about things like:
01
Which thinking skills you see making the biggest difference for students, and where you see gaps
02
How these skills show up (or could show up) in your classrooms, schedules, and priorities
03
How you connect early thinking skills to later academic achievement and future readiness
04
What's worked, what hasn't, and what you're still figuring out
You'll leave with fresh ideas and new connections with leaders who care about the same questions you do.
